Dish Nepal is Shams, hometv will take another 2-3 weeks to go into the market.

DTH war in Nepal looks like coming to a point.  Dish Nepal seems to be running into some problem with the MOIC. Their strategy to come into the market via Mercantile 3.9 meters uplink antenna is being blocked by the MOIC.  They have yet to find a place to setup their 9.5 meter antenna, and it is doubtful that there is any space in the Mercantile building for such a large structure. The only alternative would be for DN to buy a piece of land next to Mercantile building in Durbar Marg and construct the structure to hold the Uplink antenna. The land price in Durbar Marg is very high, in the hay days, it was heard to be as high as 9 crore per ana.
Alternative for Dish Nepal is to uplink its transmission from India or other foreign country, which is illegal in Nepal.  DN has real smart people, so they will certainly figure out a solution.

In the mean time, hometv is ready to launch commercially but they also seem to have gotten into the glitch. They don't have the setupbox yet, the total channel packages are not finalized. Colors and some other sports channels have been removed from their list. So what kind of package they will introduce is yet to see.
